Why upgrade to Leopard?

Apple
I really enjoy using Tiger. I have an
iMac and a MacBook and they both run nicely with Tiger. I get the
odd slowdown, but I am certain that that is Macaroni or Spotlight
doing stuff. I have not had to press the Off button for a couple of
weeks; and I have not had a kernel panic for at least 2
years.
So why upgrade?

Wireless Keyboard

I bought myself a wireless keyboard on
Thursday. I decided to go to the Apple shop on Regent Street,
purely because I was in London with an hour to spare, and it was in
stock. It's a darling little gadget and it works immediately,
although you do have to download the Keyboard Preferences update
(which happens automatically with Software Update, don't know how).
It just works eh ...
It is the same size and feel as my MacBook keyboard, but without the numeric keypad alternative layout. The power indicator is a tiny green LED on the right, just inboard of the power button, and there is a Caps Lock LED in the normal place. Apart from those lights it looks inert, but it comes alive with a touch on any key. It fits nicely in my Crumpler 'pooter bag, although I shall keep it in my Apple carrier bag (very nice) to save its being scratched too soon.
I now use this keyboard on the train or otherwise out and about. I shall continue to use the wired keyboards at home with my Griffin iCurve levitation device.

Asam has a list of those who have said
that they might be able to help him and others with manning the MUG
stall on Friday and Saturday afternoon at MacLive Expo. Do get in touch if you can give him
the times that you can help. All training and equipment will be
provided
.
Chris
p.s. it looks as if I can make some time on Friday afternoon; my Boss is a keen Mac user and wants to come as well ...

It's taken me a while (sorry), but
here we go with the first post in the Group's Blog. I'll call it
"caMMac Notes" for the moment, to be different, but I am of course
open to suggestions. I'll enable Comments so feel free to make
them. However, if there are Web Pests I will probably have to
disable them again as I don't have a screening system.
Do make suggestions for this part, or any part. And if you want an announcement, get in touch.
