RECORD OF MEETING OF caMMac COMMITTEE ON 31 MARCH 2009 AT CB2

Present: Asam Bashir, Martin Dove, and Chris Barker; apologies: Sailesh Raithatha.

Purpose: to discuss the full establishment of the Cambridge Macintosh Users’ Group – “caMMac” – how to proceed with meetings and their subjects.
RECORD OF MEETING OF caMMac COMMITTEE ON 31 MARCH 2009 AT CB2

Present: Asam Bashir, Martin Dove, and Chris Barker; apologies: Sailesh Raithatha.

Purpose: to discuss the full establishment of the Cambridge Macintosh Users’ Group – “caMMac” – how to proceed with meetings and their subjects.
Meetings
  • Continue with meetings until September 2009; then apply for recognition by Apple as user group.
  • Possible subjects:
      • AGM and Christmas Dinner on 14 December 2009.

      Seminars

      • Aim to start on 7 September 2009 with the first of 8 public seminars, 1 every fortnight.
      • First ideas:
        • Fink.
        • Darwin ports.
        • iPhone development (apps).
        • Podcasting.
        • Video editing.

      Publicity
      • Aim to build relationships with local retailers, including Apple Store.
      • Sailesh had produced some draft logos; Asam would try them out on the caMMac area of Facebook.
      • The caMMac website would use the new logo, once finalised, as would Group stationery.
      • Chris would investigate linking RSS from the Facebook area to the website [now linked to the caMMac Blog on scispace.net].
      • Put records of meetings on website, perhaps in the Blog area.

      Next Meeting
      The next meeting would take place at 1830 on Monday 20 April 2009 at CB2.
